Quit Bitching: Monday Night Pick

Posted By on Mon, Jun 11, 2007 at 6:15 PM

Queers and hip hop!? While not nearly as ying-yang as peanut butter and chocolate, for many they go together like Salt and Peppa. (Heh. Yeah. See what I did there? Whatever, it's late and I'm tired.) Check out the Cafe's "gay and lesbian hip hop night" at their weekly throw down, "Club Fresh." The R&B and hip hop grooves (c/o DJs Twist and Mike Biggz) and very, very cheap booze will help squelch your Monday madness and make you hungover, useless, and moody for all of Tuesday. Enjoy! --Brock Keeling

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
