Emily Jane White tonight

Posted By on Fri, May 25, 2007 at 10:58 AM

Here’s some reinforment for Hiya’s post about Wild Tigers I Have Known … great movie, great local band soundtrack. And to prep yourself for Emily Jane White’s contributions, we’d recommend checking her out live tonight at the very Santa Cruz-ish surf shop, Mollusk, at 8 p.m. The unassuming Irving St. outlet carries everything from surf boards to zines, shirts by local artists, and select discs, occasionally hosting a double-whammy evening of art and music.

Tonight is one such night, although the details on Mollusk’s site are scant. Luckily White offers a couple more clues, along with music and videos, at her MySpace site. Why not kick off the long weekend with a beach excursion to a mellow hood and some stunning music? --Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
