Unpredictably Personal

Wednesday, Feb 27 2013
Phil Hanley is not easily embarrassed by uncomfortable situations or by his own circumstances. After all, as the Canadian native has been fond of revealing, he is not only a comedian, he is also a stay-at-home son who works mostly for street cred. He’s certainly not afraid of making himself look like a bit of a geek in a too-tight sweater, and his apparent lack of any real social skills is an endearing part of his charm that has made him a repeat guest on the late night talk show circuit, rubbing elbows with Jay Leno and Craig Ferguson. His celebration of all that’s awkward about human interaction hits home for both men and women. But one last note specifically directed to the ladies: He doesn't kiss on the first date; he thinks women should be happy with just sex.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
