The Phenomenauts: Show Preview

Wednesday, Mar 12 2014

If you're a sci-fi nerd who also happens to be passionate about Devo, Elvis Costello, the Clash, and men in uniform, The Phenomenauts are basically everything you love in the universe, fused together. For the rest of you, some suspension of disbelief is going to be required in order to get you through this show, but trust us when we say it's entirely worth it. Phenomenauts shows are incredibly silly, but enormous fun – like the coolest kids from Comic-Con got together, wrote punky love songs about particle accelerators, and threw a kick-ass dance party. Plus, frankly, this sextet's unerring insistence that it knows how to time-travel and visit distant galaxies is both laugh-out-loud entertaining and heart-warmingly endearing. Just put on your finest moon boots and go.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
