We know people who roll their eyes at a mention of The Vagina Monologues. We wonder if they've seen it, or whether they're hiding something. Rapist? Raped? Sure that's harsh, but they're the ones rolling their fuckin' eyes. So for those of us who don't have to do that, think of how good and funny the play is with its usual cast of local impassionadas, the vast majority holding some other day job besides actor. Now consider how high the next level could be. Here are the professional and graduate-level actors and theater professionals who grace these two performances, which benefit the V-Day Organization and La Casa de les Madres women's shelter: René Augesen, Carey Perloff, Melissa Smith, Janette Andrawes, Meryl Shaw, Stacy Beckley, Beatrice Basso, Elizabeth Brodersen, Ellen Cassidy, Carly Cioffi, Hannah Cohen, Rose Hogan, Eliza Leoni, and Katie May, Shinelle Azoroh, Stephanie DeMott, Marisa Duchowny, Christina Elmore, Caroline Hewitt, Sophia Holman, Sara Hogrefe, Omozé Idehenre, Jenna Johnson, Emily Kitchens, Jessica Kitchens, Mairin Lee, Lakisha May, Maggie Rastetter, Courtney Thomas, and Ashley Wickett, Cindy Goldfield, and Barbara Oliver. Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
