The Clowns are Back in Town!

Wednesday, Apr 6 2011
Local and international circus artists, students, comedians, and clowns come together to bring San Francisco a different kind of cabaret. The "Picklewater Clown Cabaret" -- which includes Pi the Physical Comedy Troupe -- is an event that's a nice change for the disliked Monday (when we all need a good laugh, right?). Love them or hate them, that's what clowns are for. Produced by Picklewater Industries and the Clown Conservatory of the San Francisco Circus Center, the cabaret offers a variety of live acts by performers that have been professionally trained in the circus arts.
Mon., Aug. 1; First Monday of every month. Starts: Aug. 1. Continues through Dec. 5, 2011

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
