Steve Ignorant: Show Preview

With its rapidfire military drumming, ferocious political ideology, and Steve Ignorant's unforgettable snarl, the seminal punk act Crass has maintained a stronghold on the anarcho-punk psyche since 1977. And while teenagers have been safety-pinning the band's distinctive logo to their buttflap patches for decades, Ignorant himself has never been shoved out front as "the face" of the band like other punk legends — your Jello Biafras and Johnny Rottens. This tour, finally, is all about Ignorant — it's billed as "Steve Ignorant presents Crass songs 1977-82, the Last Supper." After some bumps in the road, including confusion over the nature of the tour and a delay in visas for the British band, Ignorant finally comes back across the pond.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
