Somebody's Gonna Get Pregnant?

Wednesday, Oct 24 2007
Comedian, actor, and erotic figurehead Tracy Morgan is best known for his seven-year run on Saturday Night Live, where he nailed impressions of Mike Tyson, Star Jones, and Maya Angelou. Morgan also made a significant impact on the pop cultural development of at least one pubescent Caucasian in this country with his involvement in Def Comedy Jam, Martin, Crank Yankers, and, of course, his unforgettable voice-over role in Farce of the Penguins. He also stars on some show called 30 Rock, playing a certifiably insane sketch comedy actor named Tracy Jordan, thereby plunging himself into the depths of self-referential postmodernism. If his recent spate of television appearances making perfectly coifed daytime talk-show hosts and news anchors hilariously uncomfortable is any indication, his stand-up routine will draw heavily on shirtlessness and screaming, "Somebody's gonna get pregnant!" Don't let his unhinged stage persona fool you: Behind the comedic mask is a sane, tender individual.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
