Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford and James Shaw tweak their pulsing electronic assemblage into a mass of pastiche moments. The British duo's latest full-length, Temporary Pleasure, nods to acid's undulating squelches, freestyle's syncopation, machine soul's compressed bleep-beats, and bristling electrohouse. Insistent bass throbs underneath disembodied guest vocals and disco-tech embellishments.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday.
