Eric Pratt
The Art Guy

"I'm a music festival junkie — I've already been to Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, and Northern Nights this year — so it's no surprise that this is my sixth consecutive year attending Outside Lands. Jessie Schiewe
Music Editor

"I have a confession, I've never been to Outside Lands, but boy am I looking forward to it. As a hip-hop head, I was excited to see a number of rappers on the lineup, but overall, it's the festival's eclecticism that most appeals to me. Listening to some rad live music while lounging on a patch of pillowy soft grass is exactly how I want to spend my weekend."

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
