A comedy about suicide? Performances of Roommate Wanted benefit the S.F. Suicide Prevention Fund, so maybe Rob Ready, Dave Burke, and Dan Williams' new play isn't as tasteless as all that. Besides, it sounds cathartic to watch seven roommates duke it out onstage instead of reading the vicious notes left on your own kitchen counter, right? The production concerns a group of young San Franciscans sharing an apartment: Who won't wash the dishes? Who's smoking hella dope? Most importantly, who's suffering from extreme mental anguish? The company, Piano Fight Productions, isn't stuffy about the audience's state of mind: "Brown bags of the magic juice are encouraged," say the press materials. A funny series of "In Production" videos chronicle the making-of drama.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
