Public Enemy: Show Preview

Public Enemy plans to release an 11th studio album, Most of Our Heroes Don't Appear on a Stamp, by the end of next year, and may allow some glimpse of its contents on its current live tour. But more likely, the legendary rap group, featuring Chuck D and (latter-day reality dating show star) Flavor Flav, will tease up the classics and allow San Francisco to revel in early-'90s activism with "Fight the Power" and "Bring the Noise." The group has been steadily touring the world for years, and its members are road dogs who have mastered the art of onstage captivation.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
