There's nothing more familiar and comforting to a '90s kid than a Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper, complete with images of kittens or pandas in shocking day-glow. Now imagine Lisa Frank had the savviness of a San Franciscan and the gutsiness of a contemporary artist, and you might get a woman like one of the four behind City Limits' "Trapper Keeper." The Bay Area-based ladies have collaborated in this group showing to take a look at how throw-back '90s media can translate to today; Mia Christopher with bold latex forms, Jane Kim in her unexpected-item sculptures, Mie Horlyck Morgensen's humorous vinyl on paper, and Lana Williams' audacious mark-making paintings. The innovative quartet isn't afraid of loud paint, bleach, makeup, and glitter, so be prepared to get messy.

Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 25. Continues through Feb. 15, 2014

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
