It's been 20 years since "Little" Louie Vega and Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez first got together and started producing as Masters at Work. In that stretch of time, the New York-based duo has had an immeasurably large effect on both New York nightlife and the global house music scene. Honed over a vast discography, the Masters at Work sound has a soulful depth and playfulness defined by a willingness to explore and incorporate variety of styles: house, hip-hop, disco, jazz, African, Latin, and more. The result is a multicultural music that's as much a melting pot as the city that birthed it. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, the duo is set to play together as the culminating moment in Red Bull Music Academy's New York City to the S.F. Bay: Dance event.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
