New Orleans–born and Oakland–bred soul singer Ledisi expresses the intensity of growth on "Going Through Changes" from her recent Grammy-nominated album, Turn Me Loose. Her fifth release is a simmering tale of resisting temptation, where she sings from a deeper, more guttural place than on previous records. The highly polished album also features collaborations with such notable producers as Oakland's Raphael Saadiq and Minneapolis power-funk hitmakers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
