KiNK: Show Preview

Wednesday, Dec 28 2011

You'd be forgiven for being shocked by the music of Strahil Velchev, a.k.a. KiNK. The Bulgarian producer has spent much of the past five years topping the DJ charts with an eclectic sound comprising near-perfect simulations of Chicago house, Detroit techno, classic acid, and (oddly, but we swear it works) experimental electronica. Both solo and with sometime-partner Neville Watson, KiNK has generated a vast discography of remixes and originals that saw release on such highly regarded labels as Rush Hour, Trax Records, and Get Physical. KiNK is set to play live (with hardware) for his San Francisco debut at Sunset and Honey Soundsystem's epic New Year's Eve party.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
