No one between the ages of 12 and 50 cares if Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart can pull this off or not -- The Runaways is exciting by its existence. Later, people will take sides, either admitting or not admitting to the actual quality level of this film. But for now, an unsung chapter of music, style, and protofeminism is being sung loud and distorted, just the way we've always imagined it. Joan's triumph, Lita's talent, Cherie's um, good looks, and the fun we hope they were having: These are images we've wanted to see plastered on a big, glossy screen for quite some time.
