J Boogie: Show Preview

Wednesday, Jun 1 2011

J Boogie's music is renowned for its eclectic charm. Whether as a remixer or with his own Dubtronic Science ensemble, the San Francisco–based artist isn't shy about infusing his sophisticated electronic grooves with a snatch of Afrobeat or a blast of bhangra. His list of musical collaborators is equally as varied, with underground hip-hop mainstays like People Under the Stairs and Zion I sharing space in the discography with dance music darling Mark Farina and the indie-rock band Colossal. For the launch of the OM record label's OM Yoga project, the producer's oeuvre will take on a new twist as J Boogie and his band soundtrack an hour-long vinyasa yoga class. Seriously.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
