How's That Knee Feeling?

Wednesday, Nov 12 2008
It sounds so upstanding: San Francisco's Run and Walk for the Hungry 5K and Mile benefits the San Francisco Food Bank. 'Tis the season to help people out even more than usual, it's true. So, nominally, the event is "for a good cause." But maybe you know some runners personally? If so, you have long suspected that they don't really care. They just want to run, it's all they think about and they'll do anything to get their fix. You can see the thoughts practically flashing across their foreheads like an LED sign: "Must ... run. Not ... hamster ... but ... must ... run." The rest of us should have sympathy for our addled friends and neighbors. They can't help themselves. But here’s how you can: Ask for their pledge form and donate some money.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
