Hard French

At this point in time, Hard French might as well be a local institution. Now into its third season, the Motown-heavy queer day party presents itself as a viable alternative to the usual Saturday hangover damage control. Head down to the El Rio and you'll be able to catch six hours of "hard dancing and hard cruising" curated by the twin force of DJs Carnita and Amy Brown. Within that time frame there'll be a free BBQ, an hour dedicated to $1 beers, "jiggalicious dance babes," and even a photo booth. And, because it's a day party, you can start off here and still have plenty of time to enjoy the evening. This video does a pretty good job of summing up the overall experience.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
