A slew of solar power companies march on San Francisco armed with powerful weapons: Information, magical gadgetry, and the world's most obvious solution to a lot of problems. We wouldn't put it past the people behind the big oil companies to find some way to block out the sun, but until they do, it's still a free, cheerful, and extremely practical source of energy. It seems like it would be stupid not to use it. Oh, sorry, that sounded judgemental. Solar power companies SunEdison, Evergreen Solar, United Soal Ovonic, and their friends arrive in our fair city with their "photovoltaic fun," and they're prepared for pedestrian curiosity as well as institutional inquiry.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'.
