"Last year, Folsom Street Events donated $301,512 to charities in need," according to the organization's Web site. This is not what we usually envision as the motivating force behind the Folsom Street Fair, an adult leather/alternative lifestyle fair. But in point of fact, the event is a giant benefit for organizations including Pets Are Wonderful Support, Lyon-Martin Health Services, and, yes, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. However, it's not certain that anyone's thinking about charity during the fair, because there's so much to see and do. Entertainment this year is particularly excellent and includes Internet superstar Kelly, of "Shoes" and "Muffins" fame. Folsom's world-famous leather-daddy-style eye candy abounds. Fetish-oriented art and goods are on display, and constant celebrations of free sexual expression public and private give the day its characteristic tough gay vibe: It's not for those with any shame.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
