Eat, Pray, Love, Donate

Glide church needs volunteers. Not today, though — the spots on the popular Thanksgiving food line filled up weeks ago (though donations, including food and toys, are always welcome). It seems that just as many people want to help Glide as want to pick up a plate of Thanksgiving, which is one of nice things about living in a place like San Francisco and going to a nice place like Glide. Although the volunteer spots are gone, you can still enjoy a meal if you need to — the church expects to serve more than 7,000 — as well as attend the Thanksgiving Day Celebration service, one of its signature everybody-into-the-pool extravaganzas. If you're really in the giving mood, join Glide founder and Minister of Liberation Cecil Williams, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Janice Mirikitani, and Willie Brown on Dec. 18 for Glide’s annual holiday festival, Celebrate Home, which takes place around the corner in the just-shy-of-the-Tenderloin O'Farrell Hilton. As for you eager volunteers, many of the holiday events are already booked, but there's still room at the big ones, with shifts available for Christmas Day and the many post-Christmas meals. Hurry and sign up online.

Meals are served today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
