Bowling, like roller disco, seems to be enjoying a resurgence in this city, albeit in a tongue-in-cheek way. Many of the new alleys serve craft beer and hoity-toity cocktails, and hardly seem like the kind of place you'd hold a Lebowski Fest — or pretend we live in a Red State. And then there's Presidio Bowling Center, relic of the past, haven of pinball machines, weeknight leagues, and big screens that project cheesy music videos. It's the proper place for grizzled, grouchy bowling enthusiasts who address each other as "dude," or for people who still treat bowling as both a sport and a pastime. And the grill serves anything that can be cooked in a fryer.
