Best Unexpectedly Awesome Chicken Wings

House of Xian Dumpling

Not to be confused with Xi An Gourmet on Geary in the Richmond, House of Xian Dumpling at the edge of Chinatown is another anonymous-looking restaurant that just so happens to serve hard-to-find food from the remote Xi'an province. And the best thing on that menu is the salt-and-pepper chicken wings, which are cooked perfectly and so heavily seasoned as to banish any hint of subtlety. At only $6.95 an order, you might reconsider the necessity of beer and football.
