Best Housing Rights People

Housing Rights Committee

The Housing Rights Committee was formed in 1979 and has remained a pillar of protecting people (low-income seniors and disabled) from getting screwed out of their housing. As of late, the committee is at the forefront of the anti-eviction battle that's riled up all of San Francisco. HRC warriors like Executive Director Sara Shortt, Fred Sherburn-Zimmer, and Tommi Avicolli Mecca, among others, don't just show up and scream — they've actually saved thousands of people from losing their homes. Look, the Housing Rights Committee has majoe cojones. Members will show up where needed and rescue people from becoming victims of rich landlords. The HRC knows the law and understands how the system works — as bad as the eviction crisis now is, it might have been so much worse without fearless people over at the Housing Rights Committee. Thanks, guys!
