Bell Returns

W. Kamau Bell is too busy to give an interview. Or maybe he isn't too busy; maybe he's just gone off the grid for a bit. His acclaimed late-night talk show, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, was recently canceled after it was moved from FX to the newly-spawned FXX network this fall. The move was an unfortunate call, because although FXX ran Totally Biased five nights a week instead of one, well, if a show fails in the woods and no one knows what FXX is, etc. The great news is that the Bay Area-bred comedian is coming back to town. If you're already a fan of Bell's intellectual, political comedic voice, you'll know you oughta take this opportunity to see what he's got to say. And if you're uninitiated, see him while you can, because whatever projects Bell has on the horizon will only propel him to a higher state of well-deserved notoriety.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
