Oooooh ... ohGr? Sounds scary! You say this "Nivek Ogre" feller is the same guy who — as singer for electroterror trio Skinny Puppy — used to drench himself in blood, vivisect stuffed dogs, and simulate ripping out his own intestines onstage? And now he's portraying a "face-stealing rapist" in a gory rock-opera movie?!? No, ma'am, too terrifying for me! Wait, what's that? This ohGr band is actually catchy? Lots of blippy 16-bit Nintendo ditties that sound like synthpop for hopscotching fifth-graders? Well ... I guess I can imagine double-dutch in the underworld. But I promise to skip to ohGr's playground-goth singalongs only if you meet me in front of Slim's.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
