Maybe it's a hot fuchsia feather boa. Or a cocky top hat. Or the 5-inch platform heels you just scored at Target that look like they cost way more than they actually did. Whatever the accessory, the right one adds an extra wiggle to your step and inspires a feeling of utter confidence. With the citywide party that is Pride kicking off in earnest this weekend, it's time to amp up the attitude, pile on the glam, and sashay on down to Creativity Explored, a Mission-based arts collective for developmentally disabled adults, for their new group show "Fabulous." Resident artist Sara O'Sullivan originated the exhibition with her exuberant portraits of drag queens and other colorful Mission acquaintances. Playful twists on gender and queer identity form a strong central theme in the show, and the artists also extend the adjective of the title to include a veritable plethora of interpretations. Christina Fong depicts a glittering expanse of diamonds fit for Marilyn Monroe in one piece, while Camille Holvoet takes the theme as an opportunity to focus on fantastic footwear. The bedazzled pair in "Shoes on Fire" are quite literally smokin' hot, with flames licking at their soles. Abstract color brings another kind of radiant energy in Yah Kakbutra's watercolor paintings, as she layers hues that freely intermingle and run together. All this and a chance to pose behind a cardboard drum kit painted bright pink? If someone asks you how you feel, you know what to say.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
