A Lot to Love

A decade ago, Loni Love was an electrical engineer working at Xerox in Detroit. But after winning the Star Search reboot in 2003, she made a radical career change. She’s now a celebrated performer who has had a full-length special on Comedy Central and enjoys a regular place in the roundtable pop culture discussions on the nightly talk show Chelsea Lately. A former correspondent for colleague D.L. Hughley’s now-defunct commentary show D.L. Hughley Breaks the News on CNN, Love still mixes a liberal dose of politics into her stand-up humor -- a wry pairing with her free discussion of topics like being plus-sized and proud. Onstage, she’s energetic, friendly, and down-to-earth even as she is bold and blunt, an irresistible combination.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
