5 Food Truck Burgers Worth the Hunt

San Francisco is a city of burgers, with diners seeking juicy patties and toasted buns across all 7x7 square miles. Not too long ago, we over indulged in a plenitude of burgers to pick our top 25 burgers at brick-and-mortar establishments. But these burgers, found on food trucks and at pop-ups, are worth hunting down too.
Bacon Bacon Truck: The Bacon Burger (two beef patties, bacon, sauted onions, cheddar) stands out for its "bacon-iness." The soft brioche like bun cradles two juicy patties dressed with a mustard-mayo sauce and caramelized onions. A small skirt of flattop crunchy cheddar adds a whole other layer of fatty-salty-brittle bites that contrasts beautifully with the pile of bacon on top.
Fiveten Burger: The Loaded Burger (6 oz. beef patty, lettuce, tomato, housemade pickles, onions, mayo, ketchup, mustard, with a choice of American, cheddar, or Swiss cheese) that Roland Robles of Fiveten Burger truck makes is exemplary for the perfectly balanced cheeseburger and one of the best burgers in the Bay Area. This burger is so good we gave it a Best Of award.
The Belly Burger: The Classic Belly Burger (pork belly patty, fried pobalno and serrano pepper aioli, tomatillo relish, cotija cheese) was so good we gave it a Best Of award. The gentle heat of the aioli, salty cheese, and perfectly tuned acidity of the tomatillo relish needs nothing else.
Doc's of the Bay: If not sure what to choose, try the classic; the meat hits the griddle in ball form, and gets flattened into patty shape only after browning and sizzling a bit. The bun joins patty and Tillamook American cheese in the burger's final stages on the griddle, so it wicks up the juices. This is also a place to bring a vegetarian friend, as Doc's also serves up a house-made veggie burger: a black-bean patty with jicama slaw on a Firebrand French roll.
Fins on the Hoof: Try the Grass-Fed Lamb Burger (salsa verde, feta, red onion, arugula, spicy mayo), which won a Best Of award. The burger takes time to make, so be patient, but the patty is seared to perfection, and crackles when you bite into it.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
