What better way to celebrate America's independence than to cook, eat, listen, and play all things local? Whether you're ready to heat up the grill or looking to learn more about the country's history, we've got the best ways to spend the day (because what else is there to do at night then watch the fireworks or play with sparklers?).

Off the Grid: Celebrate all things American with a picnic basket at Fort Mason courtesy of Off the Grid. $100 will get you either a Patriot (whiskey, sugar, orange and lemon juices, and club soda) or Sweet Tea (whiskey, fresh mint, brown sugar, blood orange, soda water, lime, tea, and honey) punch kit, beer (PBR or Olympia), a blanket, and a bubble kit for the young'uns. America for everyone. Fort Mason Center, 2 Marina Blvd, 5-10 p.m.

Hemlock Tavern: Local punk/American Oi bands and "free" barbecue for a cover charge of $12. Advance tickets can be found on their site. 1131 Polk St., 923-0923

Haute Dog buns: If you've always wanted to try the Haute Dog's famous mustard seed croissant bun without the all-beef dog, salt and vinegar beet chips, and whole ground mustard, now's your chance. Craftsman and Wolves is selling a four-pack of the buns for $10 on Friday through Sunday. Pre-ordering is recommended and can be done so by calling 913-7713. If you tag a photo of your adaptation of the Haute Dog with #youcouldbeawiener and @craftsmanwolves on Instagram, you could win a free Rebel Within and a monthly cup of coffee for a year. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 6. The hautest dog will be announced Wednesday, July 8.

4505 Meats via Postmates: Get your grilling meats through your phone; 4505 is teaming up with Postmates, a delivery app, to send out promo packs for $35 and a discounted delivery fee. The pack includes two pounds of ground bacon-beef for burgers, two hot dogs, two chicken beer sausages, four hot dog buns, four burger buns, a pint of coleslaw, a pint of potato salad, and condiments. The butcher shop will only be open 11-5 on the 4th so get your 4505 while you can!

Pardee Home Museum: Traditional burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and an ice cream social are on the menu at this old-timey Independence Day party across the Bay. Other than food, patriotic songs, croquet and badminton are included in the $15 admission fee ($5 for kids). There will also be a children's crafting station for souvenirs to take home. 672 11 St., Oakland, 510-832-3456

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
