World-Famous Chef René Redzepi is Coming to the Castro Theater

Posted By on Wed, Oct 30, 2013 at 8:00 AM

One of the world's most talented and influential culinarians is coming to San Francisco. On Tuesday, November 19, NOMA chef/owner and MAD Food Symposium founder, René Redzepi, will visit the Castro Theatre to discuss his new book: A Work In Progress: Journal, Recipes and Snapshots, the eagerly-awaited follow-up to his 2010 James Beard-award winning cookbook Noma: Time and Place in Nordic Cuisine.

During the evening's conversation, the master of Nordic cuisine will explore his methodology and inspiration, as well as expound upon the success of his renowned Copenhagen restaurant. And for a bit of icing on this artfully-crafted cake, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich (and fellow Dane) will be on hand to introduce Redzepi.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 (admission to the event only) or $65 (admission plus a signed copy of A Work in Progress) and are available at Brown Paper Tickets.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
