Four Barrel is five years old today, and they are throwing one heck of a shindig. Happily, that means lots of free stuff for us. Beginning at 7 a.m. this morning, the café started giving away all beverages in what sounds like a highly caffeinated free-for-all. Everything from drip coffee all the way through the espresso menu is on the house.

First Report From the Mill, Open Today on Divisadero

The rest of the day is filled up with all kinds of hip and tasty fun (in true Four Barrel fashion) including cake from Tartine at noon, skee ball, a brass band, a photo booth throughout the day, and a petting zoo with real live animals from 12-3 p.m. If this party is going to be anything like the ones in previous years, it will be a good bit of fun. Heads up, the café will close earlier than usual, at 4 p.m., so you'll have to get yourself over there during work hours.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
