Between Bay to Breakers and Maker Faire, there's a lot going on this weekend. For those of you with a child-like sense of whimsy but a distaste for huge crowds, there's a 7-year old's birthday party that we think you'll enjoy. On Saturday, City Beer Store celebrates its 7th Anniversary with the release of a new beer from a wildly popular brewery. It'll be just like the parties of your youth, only boozier!

Start off your Saturday by celebrating the watering hole that pioneered the hybrid bottle shop/bar model and opened up the Bay Area to brews from countless breweries from around the globe. In honor of City Beer's 7th Anniversary, the shop teamed up with legendary hop-whisperers Alpine Brewing, whose "San Diego style" hoppy brews have set the benchmark for commercial breweries and homebrewers across the country.
The beer, called 'Magificent Seven', is a Double IPA brewed with seven different malts, seven different hops, seven hop additions throughout the boil, and weighing in at 7.7% ABV (hmmm, we're noticing a pattern...). Be sure to congratulate owners Craig and Beth on seven years of craft beer evangelism. Details for the party and beer release, below:
