"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." The saying can also be applied to learning the arts of homebrewing, except you'll have a lifetime supply of beer. And, you'll never have to worry about seasickness or gutting fish. Now that you're re-thinking your existing hobbies, consider becoming a brewmaster's apprentice at 18 Reasons.

The Rare Barrel Commences Fermentation

Brewing your own beer at home is an affordable creative outlet that lets you re-live your elementary school science projects ... but with booze. Creating your own beer is the best way to gain insight into the burgeoning craft brewing renaissance happening in our own backyard. Once you understand the individual components of beer and the process of fermentation, you'll notice immediate changes in how you taste and experience commercial brews as well. And, your friends will be happy that there's always a stockpile of fresh beer in your apartment (better for luring friends over than a freezer full of fish -- trust us).

Starting on April 23, 18 Reasons offers a series of three homebrewing classes with Eric Denman, of Mission Gastroclub fame. Along with Chef Neil Davidson, Denman has hosted countless dinners paired with his inventive homebrewed creations. This hands-on workshop will focus on brewing 5-gallon partial mash batches. Denman will cover beer styles, beer ingredients, the brewing process and, naturally, beer tasting. Guests will taste beers along with food at each class and learn about pairing techniques. The details for your one way trip to brewing stardom, below:

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
