We're not sure about you guys, but we're not the types of little piggies that "go wee wee wee all the way home." We're more the type of piggies who go out for Manhattans after work rather than head home. Heck, we'll even cannabalize our own kind, because pork is delicious.
Folks already know that this Sunday's Cochon 555 event is your best bet for satisfying porcine cravings. Five of the city's best chefs are breaking down their own heritage pigs, creating numerous head-to-tail dishes to share with a ravenous crowd. Attendees and judges will pick their favorites from the barrage of dishes, leaving one of our local chefs crowned as the Prince of Pork.
But, enough about delicious swine. We're here to talk about the booze. Regardless of the rich, porky delights, the drink list at Cochon is enough to send you to hog heaven:
Whet your whistle with wines from Sandhi Wines, Greg Linn Wines, Turley Wine Cellars, Scholium Project, Elk Cove Vineyards, Wind Gap WInes, Buty Winery, Robert Kacher Selections, Paul Mathews Vineyards, Matthiason, Chehalem Wines, and SIMI Winery. For a refreshing palate cleanser, guests can enjoy hard ciders from Crispin, and a booth with cheeses paired with beers from local legends Anchor Brewing.
We're likely to hover near the hard stuff for pours of Pig's Nose Scotch and Illegal Mezcal, part of a flight at the new Mezcal Bar feature. As if that weren't enough, guests have access to the Perfect Manhattan Bourbon Bar, featuring bourbons and whiskies from the likes of Breckenridge, Hudson, Eagle Rare, High West, Buffalo Trace, and Four Roses. But, for your first stop, we'd head to the Punch Kings area, where six local bartenders will create inventive punches as part of a competition. The judging will take place during the VIP hour, but punches will be poured on the main floor until they run out.
