Rejoice, for it's everyone's favorite sweet, nerdy holiday, Pi Day (3/14, 3.14, get it?). We aren't usually in the business of celebrating estoteric food holidays like National Fettucini Alfredo Day or National Lucky Charms With All The Marshmallows Picked Out Day, but Pi Day is something else: It was invented right here in San Francisco at the Exploratorium, and its origins are geeky and earnest at heart.

The best way to celebrate the day is, of course, with a slice of pie. We've rounded up a few places offering special deals. (Know more? Leave 'em in the comments.)

Summer Ends on a Sweet Note at Mission Pie

Chile Pies is celebrating with Pi Pies (picture above), as well as $3.14 slices of their green chile apple pie with cheddar crust, walnut streusel, and red chile honey drizzle. It's available at both locations: 314 Church and 601 Baker.

Staying in the savory vein, Patxi's Pizza is offering a lunch special today (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) with slices of pie for $3.14. You can choose between two thin crust options (cheese and pepperoni) or two Chicago-style options (one meat and one vegetarian daily). The only catch is that to get the deal you need to prove you're a fan of Patxi's on Facebook, Twitter, or Foursquare.

Three Babes Bakeshop is offering free delivery of their pies all day today. They're out of fruit pies, but have Vanilla Sugar Buttermilk, Salty Honey Walnut, Lemon Chess, Chocolate Lemon Chess, Honey Chess, and Bittersweet Chocolate Pecan. Order at Good Eggs and await your sweet treat.

Memphis Minnie's in Lower Haight is rolling out some new pies for the holiday. The new lineup includes chili-cheese hand pie made with smoked brisket and cheddar cheese, Texas beef brisket pot pie, smoked chicken pot pie, and chocolate peanut butter pie with candied bacon. The pie-eating goes on until 9 p.m. today.

Down in the Mission, Pig & Pie is offering a dollar off a slice of pie if you say "3.14" at the counter when you order, according to Twitter. And Mission Pie is offering $3.14 slices today.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
