The rundown: Slow Food San Francisco has hit upon a pretty ingenious method for reaching out into the community in hopes of attracting volunteers. This is an opportunity to see what the organization is up to (and sign on if you so desire) and mingle with fellow folks who care about quality food -- or who just want to check out what's being billed as San Francisco's "first wine pub." Other upcoming Slow Food events include a potluck dinner (Nov. 8) and a tour of waste management pros Recology (Nov. 17).

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
