Three years since launching from a converted horse trailer in a SOMA parking lot, Crêperie Saint Germain is getting ready to open its third brick and mortar location in San Francisco at the Bank of America building.
Former SF Weekly restaurant critic Meredith Brody called it "the French truck that you won't read about in the Wall Street Journal" in 2009. But just three years later, Crêperie Saint Germain has become a true San Francisco street food success story.
The menu has savory and sweet options as well as seasonal options. The former includes choices such as braised beef, but if you get a sweet crepe you can get some Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream to go with it. Upcoming specials include Peking duck or kiwi/almond/caramel. Is it Peking duck season already?
The new location debuts on June 18 and will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. A fourth location is due in July in the Metreon, and -- attention stoners -- that's going to be open until midnight.
