What: Kim Severson interviews Gabrielle Hamilton

Where: Herbst Theatre

When: Thurs., October 20, 8 p.m.

Cost: $17-$27

The rundown: City Arts & Lectures will be hosting Gabrielle Hamilton, chef at New York City's Prune Restaurant and author of the highly entertaining memoir, Blood, Bones and Butter, in conversation with New York Times Atlanta bureau chief Kim Severson. Two opinionated ladies, hashing it out. What i'd like to know is: Hamilton has worked in restaurants for about 50 years but looks like she's 21, what's her skin care regime?? You'll find out the answer to all that* and more at what should be a very interesting evening! *You will not find out the answer to that, unless Severson hears me screaming from the audience. Tickets available here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
