This week's sunny skies called for a little splash of flash without spending too much cash. Luckily, the soon-to-expand Alembic Bar is equipped to provide such a service to the thirsty in search of sparkle via its Gilded Lily.

"There are things in life that require little adornment, but we are never ones to shy away from a bit of grandeur," reads the page-turning menu. (Seriously, if you haven't checked out the literary care put into the menu here, you're missing out.)

Plymouth gin, Yellow Chartreuse, orange flower water, and a sparkling demi-sec get gussied up with a flossy gold leaf float for a drink that makes you feel like you ought to be in a rap video. And if you want to be silly, you can leave a little leaf on your lips.

Ah, playing with shiny beverages; sometimes it's just about the little luxuries.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
