Bubbly and Bivalves

Where: The Aquarium of the Bay, The Embarcadero (at Beach)

When: Thu., May 12, 7-9:30 p.m.

Cost: $50

The rundown: Thursday night, it's your chance to protect oysters, by eating them. Once again the Watershed Project is hosting its annual fundraiser gala at the aquarium, with all proceeds going to its Living Shoreline Initiative. Restaurants will include Waterbar, Slanted Door, and Greens, with oysters from Hog Island, Tomales Bay, and Drakes Bay. Several local wineries will be on hand, not to mention beer from Magnolia and Anchor Steam. Sustainable street preacher Rowan Jacobsen will also hold court, schooling you on the depletion of native local oysters in the last century and a half. Perfect soundtrack to the raw bar.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
