Bob Mould DJ Night

Where: Flour + Water, 2401 Harrison (at 20th St.), 826-7000

When: Tonight, May 2, 5 p.m.-?

Cost: Free

The rundown: Move over Colicchio, this city's got a new hirsute hero. Former Hüsker Dü frontman and current bear icon Bob Mould is collaborating with Flour + Water for a DJ night this evening, kicking off a series of artist collaborations at the already-noisy pasta hot spot. Co-presented by NoisePop, tonight's music starts at 5:30; Mould plans to show up at 9. That gives you three and a half hours to come up with a better opening line than "Wanna sign my beard?"

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
