The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Two from the 'Hopper today:

  • Yes, that Sammy Hagar.

SFoodie spent Saturday mopping the kitchen floor (no, seriously ― it'd been a long time), but the Tablehopper? At Tyler Florence's 40th birthday party in Mill Valley. Oh yeah, and the party favors were a preview of El Paseo, the steakhouse concept at 17 Throckmorton (at E. Blithedale) from TyFlo, alpha bro of the local restaurant scene. Tentative opening date is Mar. 15, and Florence's partner in the venture: Sammy Hagar. Total chest bump.

Another from Tablehopper: Today's launch of Source at 11 Division (at DeHaro), a vegetarian place (with vegan desserts) catering to the Design District. All you meat-eschewing workers in the Ann Sacks tile showroom? Total chest bump.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
