Justin Simoneaux Tees Up Boxing Room Preview at Absinthe

Lagniappe Preview Dinner for Boxing Room

Where: Absinthe, 398 Hayes (at Gough)

When: Mon., Jan. 10, 5:30-10 p.m.

Cost: $35 for three courses

The rundown: Moss Room alum Justin Simoneaux is gearing up for the launch of Boxing Room, the Absinthe sibling that's taking over the old Citizen Cake space at Gough and Grove. (The name: A nod to the packing room in the factory that first occupied the building. The cuisine: Louisiana rustic.) The Jan. 10 preview menu is offering up seafood gumbo with brown rice and house tasso; roasted golden trout; and bananas foster bread pudding. A portion of the proceeds goes to For the Bayou, a Louisiana wetlands restoration nonprofit. Be the first Yelper on your block to file a review!
