Flour + Water's Night in Emilia-Romagna

Where: Flour + Water, 2401 Harrison (at 20th St.)

Cost: $80 for five courses

Why it's likely to be special: Chef Thomas McNaughton is a brilliant pasta maker, so a menu organized around Emilia-Romagna ― arguably the premiere pasta region of Italy ― should prove spectacular. You listening, Steve Jobs?

Menu highlights: olive oil-poached fish with artichokes, nettles, and cardoons; Dungeness crab and lardo salad with celery root and tarragon; triangoli of suckling pig and cracklings; parmigiano ice cream with Lambrusco poached pear

Reserve: This is the one night of the year Flour + Water is reservations only; call 826-7000

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
