Hidden within the historic Cole's restaurant downtown, The Varnish is one of L.A.'s best bars. It was launched by Eric Alperin, formerly of Milk and Honey and Little Branch in New York.
A native of Austin, Tex., Chris Bostick specializes in ingredient-driven cocktails with strong flavors and balance. Bostick often strolls L.A.'s farmers' markets for inspiration ― we're hoping he'll make it to the Tuesday Ferry Plaza market for some S.F. produce influence.
