The guest bartender series at Beretta continues Tuesday with Chris Bostick, all the way from The Varnish in Los Angeles, teaming up with bar manager and bar star Ryan Fitzgerald.

Hidden within the historic Cole's restaurant downtown, The Varnish is one of L.A.'s best bars. It was launched by Eric Alperin, formerly of Milk and Honey and Little Branch in New York.

A native of Austin, Tex., Chris Bostick specializes in ingredient-driven cocktails with strong flavors and balance. Bostick often strolls L.A.'s farmers' markets for inspiration ― we're hoping he'll make it to the Tuesday Ferry Plaza market for some S.F. produce influence.

Special cocktail offerings of the night, all $10:

To The Bitter End: Cachaça, Campari, grapefruit, bitters

La Lucha Sigue: Añejo tequila, Carpano Antica, Amaro, absinthe

Hillside Cocktail: Gin, dry vermouth, Amaro, Chartreuse

Chris Bostick Guest Bartender Night

When: Tue., Nov. 16, 5:30 p.m.-1 a.m.

Where: Beretta, 1199 Valencia (at 23rd St.), 695-1199

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
