Maharani Restaurant has announced the return of its monthly "Vegan Bollywood Night," which apparently was suspended during the summer because the restaurant has become a destination for Indian tour buses.

The all-vegan buffet starts at 6, the movie at 7. Three Idiots, Rajkumar Hirani's 2009 comedy, won all manner of awards and has become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie ever. Hit songs, a little romance, a shower scene -- it's all in there.

Three Idiots and Vegan Buffet
Where: Maharani Restaurant 1122 Post (at Polk), 775-1988,
Time: Dinner at 6 p.m., movie screening at 7 p.m.
Cost: $20

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
