Our favorite morsel from the Web.

Argue on your own time whether the Spice Kit guys belong with Ravi Kapur, Corey Lee, and James Syhabout. The August issue of San Francisco magazine has house food scribe Josh Sens waxing all Dawn of a New Age on the handful of 30-year-old chefs San Francisco posits as the new guard of Bay Area cooking. The three mentioned above (plus Will Pacio and Fred Tang of Spice Kit), with Lauren Kiino, Joshua Skenes, Richie Nakano, and Kim Alter. Sens:

Mostly, what defines these new chefs is the way in which they wriggle free of standard definitions. Instead of chasing trends, they follow their own interests, leaving us to wonder where they'll take us next.
Wriggle free of SFoodie long enough to ponder Sens' ode to the chef-pants equivalent of the Muppet Babies.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
